COURSE OVERVIEW

This module gives an introduction to the DyStar Hilton Davis facility history, facility capabilities and R&D capabilities. After the facility information, it will explain the basic concepts about the importance of colors and how to measure them by the CIE method. It will show the definition of dyes and pigments.

Following the introduction concepts, the module will explain:

  • Information on Technical colors
  • Definitions and regulations for regulated colors
  • Regulated colors and their applications in Food, Drug, and Cosmetics.

The module will conclude with videos showing an example of making color from synthesis and preparing a color for measurement.
