BCC 204 is a defoamer designated to control foam in many processes. BCC 204 is especially effective when used in fermentation processes where a certain degree of foam control is needed without affecting oxygen transfer for optimum product yield. This product is made with food grade ingredients under our Good Manufacturing Practices Program. The components of BCC 204 meet FDA requirement for use in egg washing, potato processing defoamers as a dispersing aid for mineral oil at a limit of 50 ppm in the processing water. This product also contains ingredients for which the FDA has provided the Enzyme Technical Association with a “no objection” letter acknowledging that they are used as defoaming agents in the manufacture of enzyme preparations used in food in accordance with the principles of GMPs. Other uses in the processing and manufacture of food ingredients may also qualify for GRAS status. BCC 204 also is composed of ingredients that meet the current requirements of the FDA for food contact applications when used in accordance with the requirements and limitations of 21CFR 176.210(d)(3). Consideration for other FDA permitted uses would require further evaluation.
