Masil Ultra SL 3500 is a water-based silicone emulsion. It is specially formulated to impart slip and mar resistance. Masil Ultra SL 3500 is ideal for use in water-based flexographic, gravure, and lithographic ink. The additive can be used to effectively reduce the coefficient of friction in overprint varnishes and inks used in printing and packaging. Masil Ultra SL 3500 is a low-viscosity, easy-to-handle emulsion that mixes readily into ink and coating formulations without the need for high shear dispersion. Masil Ultra SL 3500 is cleared under numerous sections of 21 CFR and is also Nestlé and Swiss Ordinance compliant, so it is safe to use in food printing and packaging. Masil Ultra SL 3500 can also be used as a lubricant for polyethylene, making extensible papers, and release agents for paper forming. It can also be used as an anti-blocking agent for wax-coated paper and as a synthetic fiber lubricant.

Masil Ultra SL 3500 can be added during the grind or let-down phases or post-added. The additive is compatible with acrylic and polyurethane systems. The recommended dosage is 0.125% to 3% weight based on total formulation weight.
It is recommended that the Masil Ultra SL 3500 should be stirred lightly prior to use. Masil Ultra SL 3500 can be diluted by slowly adding water to the emulsion with mild agitation. It can be diluted to 0.05% silicone solids and still maintain stability.
