07 Feb DyStar Responds to Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Situation
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in response to the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak. This is a very serious threat to human health and we at DyStar would like to extend our sympathies to everyone who may have been affected by the situation, in one way or another.
In response to the evolving situation, DyStar has since taken immediate and extensive actions to manage the potential risks impacting our people, our operations, and our customers.
Health and Safety remain our highest priority for DyStar.
Our People
DyStar is committed to providing our employees with a safe and healthy working environment while minimizing, as much as possible, any potential impact to our customer’s operations.
On January 28th, we initiated a global advisory communication to all DyStar employees, providing them with quick updates on the development of the Novel Coronavirus situation to encourage prudent protection, prevention, good personal hygiene practices, medical checks, monitoring and surveillance.
DyStar is constantly reviewing our protocols to ensure all the preventive and control measures are applied according to the World Health Organization recommendations, the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the local government authorities mandates to protect themselves and others from the virus.
Our Operations
Globally, our offices in Europe, America and Asia are operating normally, despite the heightened introduction of Health and Safety prevention measures. Business travel within and to/from China has been reduced to essential travel. However, that should not impact the way we operate or trade locally or regionally.
Our Customers
DyStar is committed to delivering the highest quality of products and innovations to our customers, agents and distributors.
With regards to the impact on the supply ability of dyes and auxiliaries, as of today, many companies in China are yet to resume operations due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
We have initiated plans to check on the selected KPI’s of all our key suppliers in China. On the other hand, we will continue to focus on keeping our existing customers adequately supplied.
As this is a developing situation; DyStar will continue to monitor the situation very closely and will provide updates as needed.
